Hi crafty friends! If you are looking for some happy crafty inspiration, you are in the right place today!
Today, I am sharing this bright and cheery watercolor rainbow with some foiling using adhesive transfers. To see the crafty tutorial where I show you how to make this happy card, click here:
To start this project, I trimmed out some panels of watercolor paper to A2 size. The watercolor paper that I used today was Canson XL cold press 140 lb watercolor paper. Next I pulled out some distress watercolor pencils and lightly shaded them in rainbow order across the smooth side of my watercolor paper. The colors that I chose were picked raspberry, mustard seed, twisted citron and peacock feathers. I tried to overlap the colors a bit to help with the blend.
Next I took a size 4 paintbrush, dipped it in some water and blended the colors together. I was careful to keep my brush clean to prevent any muddy colors. I kept “swooshing” my brush until the colors looked blended and you could no longer see much of the pencil lines. I then dried the paper with my heat tool.
Next up, I pulled out the sentiments 1 adhesive transfers from deco foil. I trimmed out the happy and the birthday sentiments. These adhesive transfers say that they can either be used with a laminator or using the pressure of a die cutting machine. Since I was working with a textured paper and my paper was a bit warped from the watercoloring, I opted for the laminator option and decided to use my minc machine.
I applied the adhesive transfers from the deco foil adhesive transfers sentiments 1 set and some gold deco foil as per the instructions on the adhesive transfers.
Once I was done applying the foil, I trimmed down my panel to 4×5.25 inches and mounted it using some foam on an A2 size card base. And that’s it, my card is done!
